By now I’ve explained to you what an AWESOME PRODUCT ProFlight Simulator is, but what, you may be wondering, are the “cons” of ProFlight Simulator? Well, to be honest, it took me a little bit of time to download my copy because it’s a pretty large file, and not all internet connections can support it so it could take up to several hours. In my case, I chose to upgrade to the DVD edition.

Additionally, my first time in the members’ area was a little overwhelming because I was excited to get started and hit the ground running, and there were so many aircrafts and flight maps to choose from! After I got in and started looking around through, I realized everything was well organized into categories and began to easily navigate my way around.

You may be skeptical as I was when I first decided to try out ProFlight Simulator, however, I quickly discovered that the bottom line is, this game looks, sounds and performs at a higher level than any other flight simulator available on the market. Plus, there are just more options to choose from for an unmatched experience. Believe me, I’ve tried all of the flight sims out there: Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, Flight Sim Pro, and many others. In my opinion, ProFlight Simulator is the most fun and most realistic of all of them.

Remember, there is an 8 week money back guarantee, so give it a try NOW and be the first of your friends to experience the best flight simulator product on the market.

There are many flying simulator games on the market, and such games in one form or another have been around for many years. Whether you’re a flight simulator game guru, or this is your first introduction to games of this nature, many flight sim enthusiasts find it interesting to learn the history of flying simulator games and how they evolved.

What is a Flight Simulator?

A flight simulator is a system that is designed to mimic the experience of flight that a pilot would experience in real life. Such systems have been used as training tools in flight schools, and for pilot training for military personnel as well as for video game enthusiasts who who seek a realistic flying experience.

History of Flight Simulators

The first flight simulators are believed to have been developed around the turn of the twentieth century. The early simulators were built to replicate the flying experience so that new pilots could become comfortable behind the controls before getting into the air, which may be dangerous for an unexperienced rookie. One such flight simulator, for example, was an aircraft model mounted on a bendable joint and faced into the wind. The purpose of this was that so the mock aircraft would move about freely to simulate the motion of flying.

One famous simulator called the Link Trainer, or “pilot maker” was created in the 1930’s and then further developed for training pilots during World Word II. The 1940’s brought the Celestial Navigation Trainer – a large structure that housed a full bomber crew – complete with instruments, controls and a dome above the cockpit that simulated constellations. It wasn’t until the 1950’s that the early full motion systems came into play. These systems were created to more accurately replicate aircraft position and terrain. Images were taken with a camera and the images were then presented to training pilots through TV monitors.

Modern Day Flight Simulators and Flying Simulator Games

It wasn’t until the 1960’s that the use of digital computers began to influence flight simulators, and even then, those simulators using computers were very advanced, and had a high price tag so were not available to a wide audience. Today, there are many flight simulator games available to military pilot and civilian pilot trainees, as well as gamers interested in achieving the flying experience. One example of such a game is Pro Flight Simulator, designed with realistic terrain and weather patterns and over 100 aircrafts and 20,000 airports to choose from. These simulators are now becoming a popular option of home entertainment. Gamers are now even able to develop their own aircrafts, influence their terrain and gain an incredibly realistic, true to life flying experience from the comforts of their own home.

There are a couple of similar flying simulator games on the market right now (FlightProSim and Pro Flight Simulator) and I’ve played them both and wanted to point out some of the differences to help aid you in your flying simulator game decision.

FlightProSim and Pro Flight Simulator are different games, however, they both offer realistic flying simulation experiences. They both have many airports to choose from and many aircrafts as well as realistic weather patterns. You get to be in the cockpit with both and the prices of the two games are also comparable.

In my experience, however, FlightProSim doesn’t have as many or as frequent updates as some of the other flying simulator games on the market. Additionally, it took me more time to launch, FlightProSim and I find that frustrating when I’m excited to dive in to a new game. I’ve also heard others who have experienced frequent crashing of this system, however, I personally have had an ok experience with that and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

There are a few flight sim games on the market now that come with so many options (many more than from the early flight sim games back in the day), and the number of options can seem overwhelming at first so any video tutorials or comprehensive illustrated guides I can get my hands on definitely add value to my purchase. I could not easily find anything like this for FlightProSim and was so eager to start and didn’t want to spend more time searching around so ended up just winging it. I have been easily able to access such guides with other flight sim programs.

Pro Flight Simulator on the other hand, was launched more recently (late last year, 2010) making it the newest flight sim game on the market and has a few more features and more frequent updates including more aircrafts and more scenery. For two comparably priced games, I for one like as many updates and add ons that I can get for my money.

Here are some screenshots I took while playing ProFlight Simulator. One thing I really love about this game is the variety. I tried to capture that in these images. Hope you enjoy them!

Aircraft Variety

There are over 120 different aircraft to fly in ProFlight Simulator, and I’ve tried out a bunch of great ones already. Here are some shots I took while using a few of the more “conventional” aircraft (you’ll see what I mean later).

Cockpit Controls

Since there are so many different aircraft to choose from, you get a ton of variety in the controls. I love it when the cockpits look realistic; it really adds to the enjoyment of each plane. Here are some interior shots:

Exotic Aircraft

If you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, ProFlight Simulator has got you covered. They’ve got all kinds of crazy and interesting planes and other vehicles, like blimps, the Space Shuttle, gliders, and more.

Helicopters

Helicopters are a really cool addition to flight simulators, because their handling and maneuvering is totally different from airplanes. ProFlight Simulator has a good variety of different types of helicopters to choose from. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Terrain

In addition to the aircraft, the terrain plays a really important role in making flight sims more realistic. Fortunately, this simulator has super-realistic terrain that really adds to the effect.

Airports

ProFlight Simulator has something like 20,000 real airports in the game, with more being added every month. That’s pretty insane! You can plan out flight patterns ahead of time so you can visit as many different airports as possible.

Crash and Burn

I’ll leave you with what happens when your flight is less than successful! :)

PS- If you haven’t checked out ProFlight Simulator yet, I highly recommend that you do! It’s an awesome flight sim and will keep you entertained for years to come!

If you’re like me, you know it’s not easy finding a realistic helicopter simulator product that keeps you playing for hours on end. Many of the products out there are lacking features and functionality or are just plain and simple, not realistic. Well, I’ve got to tell you that I just found a new helicopter flight simulator product and I’m totally hooked. You’ve got to check this out HERE.

helicopter gameWhat’s amazing about this product is the incredible attention to detail. So many of the flight simulator games I’ve played and reviewed in the past were frankly just unrealistic, but I didn’t even know what I was missing until I found Pro Flight Simulator.

I’ve been using this flight simulator for the past 2 months and have been completely blown away. This most realistic flight simulator I’ve ever used, and wondering how it was possible to create such a realistic product, I did some research and discovered that the game is based on actual military world data that spans the entire globe! Additionally, there are over 20,000 real world airports to land at, and YOU are 100% in control of where you fly and have the power to control weather conditions.

Best of all, their helicopter flight simulator option is better than any other helicopter simulators I’ve seen. In my opinion, one of the great features of Pro Flight Simulator is that you get to fly hundreds of different aircrafts.

In other flight simulator products, aircrafts are typically sold separately, however, this product includes bonus aircrafts that others charge more for!

In fact, you’ll get over 120 different aircrafts to choose from including helicopters such as:

  • Helicopter SimulatorsBo 105
  • Boeing CH-47 Chinook
  • Bell 206 JetRanger
  • Bell/Boeing V-22 Osprey
  • Piasecki HUP Retriever (H-25)
  • Piasecki H-21C Shawnee
  • Robinson R22
  • Sikorsky S-51(R-5)
  • Sikorsky S-58(H-34)
  • Sikorsky S76C++
  • Sikorsky S-70 (UH-60)
  • Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion (S-80)Pro flight simulator helicopter
  • Aérospatiale Alouette II
  • Aérospatiale Alouette III
  • Aérospatiale SA 321 Super Frelon
  • Eurocopter EC 135
Ecureuil AS 350 (FDM only)
  • Westland Lynx WG13

Additionally, you can connect with others through the multiplayer support for PC & Mac.

By now you’ve heard how great this product is, but you may be wondering, “is it really worth the money?” Well, don’t have to take my word for it!

Pro Flight Simulator comes with a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee so that if you’re not completely satisfied after playing for two full months, you’ll receive your money back.

And if that’s not enough, when you purchase this product you’ll receive Free Updates For Life to ensure that you have a constant stream of content that continually enhances and increases the value of your purchase.
